We're going to be doing an embellishment swap at this crop. If you would like to participate, make up 5 embellishment bags that each have in it 1 yard of ribbon, 10 buttons or brads, and one thing that will make us smile and ooh and ahh! Have you taken a class lately?
Did you complete the project?
I'm talking complete with pictures and journaling. Classes are great and there inspiration for future projects. But how many of us take a class and don't complete the project let alone get pictures in them. I'm guilty of both. I will be attending a scrapping retreat in September, and my goal is to finish all of my "unfinished" classes/projects.
Cropping at the store or going on a retreat is a great opportunity to complete these projects. A great advantage, you don't have to bring all of you're supplies, just you're basic tools, all of you're projects should have everything you need in the kit.
So pack light with these hot summer days, get cropping and finish you're projects. Jackie Cleveland sent me pictures of a class project she took of mine. I want to share them with you because she completed the book with journaling & pictures. I think it looks awesome and it is ready to be enjoyed by all who sees it.

Class description:We will make a layout with several layers and lots of details and techniques. Each student will borrow a tool kit from my latest release, and we will do several distressing and embellish techniques with these brand new tools. Bring: Distress Inks – Frayed Burlap and Brushed Corduroy or Walnut Stain Make-up foams or other foam to add Distress Ink on products with, or Inkssential ink tool and foam. Scrapbooking glue Wet wipesAcrylic block (to mount acrylic stamps on) Minimum size 2,5x3 inch Scissors, photo in size 3 inch width and 3.5 inches height Optional - Ranger Dabber “Snow Cap” (white) or another white acrylic paint and a piece of foam to add it on with. Join this class and make a great patriotic celebration album. This project is the perfect way to showcase all those fourth of July pictures. Whether you're at a BBQ , at the beach , park or celebrating at home, this album is a unique way to scrap those photos. You could also use this album for sharing pictures of a loved one in the military or a student's field trip to Washington DC. The album is 9x8 size, with 6 chipboard pages, for a whopping 12 page album. Using the American Made line by My Mind's Eye. You will learn a few embellishing making techniques using pattern paper. OK everyone we were finally able to put out on the floor all the new Sizzix dies. WOW these are just gorgeous, I mean the possibilities are endless. I seriously have to get one of everything. The flower dies are stunning. If you don't have a Sizzix machine you just might want to consider getting one after seeing these dies. I am getting visions of so many different mediums to cut these out of. That is the great thing about Sizzix, you can die cut just about anything, chipboard, fabric, thin acrylic, burlap, canvas, metal so many things. We also have the Letterpress Plates in the store that we are so excited to be carrying, just more endless possibilities for you.

What's New at RW

Isn't he adorable???? That's my new nephew, Eli. I couldn't help but share this photo with you. I fly to Alabama on Saturday and I can't wait to shower his cheeks with a million kisses!!! He'll turn 3 weeks old on Friday... and has a little blond mohawk of hair that is to die for underneath that hat. If you have to see more pictures, come into the shop and I'll show you all day and night long. hehe. :) :)

Okay, moving on! Thank you to everyone who came out to the CHA Reveal! There was so much to cover that I realized I missed a few items and just wanted to take a quick moment to say HEY watch out for them! Tim Holtz is coming out with new THIN acrylic stamping blocks. There is a lot of assorted sizes all in one package that will fit nicely in your scrap tote. He's also coming out with some metal tape that you can use for embossing. I can't wait to get my hands on that! Finally, we did get in the American Crafts birthday line which has the little felted birthday cupcakes that some of you were asking for! They are here!

Speaking of here, it will almost be time for MARGIE to be here! Margie is the designer for Girls Paperie. Registration for her classes opens on Wednesday (that's tomorrow!). We've had lots of people calling the store, so be sure to sign up quickly before seats fill up!

Scrapbooking Tag Sale - March 5, 2011

You've been asking for this special event and I think I have figured out enough details to make this a great event for you! How it works: You sell your old scrapbooking stuff (cannot be anything but scrapbooking/stamping supplies and storage), and you receive store credit for NEW merchandise at Remember When! This is going to sell out QUICK and registration opens tomorrow (Thursday), so please call early! There is no cancellation available, however, we will fill from the wait list when possible.

Question: Will I need to be there for the sale if I have a table?
Answer: Yes, either you or a friend will need to be there to work your table. This is a Tag sale, so you have the opportunity to make deals with people and sell your scrapbooking items!

Question: How will I receive my credit?
Answer: Within one week of the sale, we will have totaled up your bills of sale and will issue a credit on your account. We will notify you with the total amount that you can compare to your copy of the bill of sale.

Question: What do I need to provide?
You will need to provide your own labels to price the merchandise and will need to bring a minimum of 20 recycled shopping bags. Bring more if you have more! Remember When will provide you with one pack of sales slips and will have additional sales slips available for purchase if needed.

Question: Can I buy more than one half-table?
Answer: Absolutely!!! It will just be $10 for each additional half-table.That's the basics; as this is our first time, I'm sure we've missed a frequently asked question since we are just guessing at what the questions may be! :) We're going to make this as ORGANIZED and easy as possible for both you and for RW!

Join Nicole for her 3rd and final Boxed Album Class. If you took her first two boxed album classes then you don't want to miss the final chapter in the series. This time around it is a Love Story. You will make a sweet Love/Valentine theme mini album and a decorated "Book" box to store it in. This mini album measures 5-1/2x4 and has 6 chipboard pages. You will have a chance to play with Paint Dabbers, glue pad, glam and glitter. You will be making flowers from tulle, crepe and tissue paper.

Lifes' Artistry with Donna Downey : Mixed Media Scrapbooking

In this workshop, you will learn techniques and tips for creating an eight page 8x10 mixed media scrapbook. The book si comprised of multi-surface and textured pages that may surprise you. The use of color, fabrics, papers, moments captured and artistic style art journaling make it unique and truly individualized to each student.

Supplies: Apron, painting towel/rag - it will get messy!, 1" paint brush, small detail brush for watercolor (about a size 7 round brush), glass jar, mug or brush bucket (for holding dirty brushes), box cutter (optional - used to distress the cardboard edges), 5 pages of book text, roll of 1" masking tape, craft/fabric glue, black India ink - recommend: Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay India Inks, large spray bottle (to spray for water drippage), black Stazon ink pad, antique linen distress ink and applicator tool, rubbing alcohol (cleans the pen nib between uses), baby wipes if you are messy!, watercolor paints, crayons or pans - recommend: Windsor and Newton, fabric scissors, liquid scrap dots or pop dots, 12-15 photos (optional, but recommended - mix of wallet sized and 4x6s).
