Tonya Wade Brooks, Owner I am so excited to be the new owner of Remember When (as of November 15, 2009). I love, love, love scrapbooking, fiber arts and mixed media! I'm a technique junkie and get excited like a little girl at Christmas when I touch new papers and fabrics. I've been married for 13 years and my husband, Adam, and I have two dogs; Jake, a dauchshund of love, and Elvis, a Jack Russell puppy that we have nicknamed "Terrorist" (If you know any Jack Russells, you know why!!). :) I am also super passionate about retail; I love meeting all of you, so make sure you say hello the next time you are in Remember When.  Thank you for enjoying this journey with me and please don't hesitate to email me with any suggestions or comments that you have.   Patty Kelly, Assistant Manager In July my husband and I will celebrate our 13th anniversary.  We have a blended family of 5 kids.  The youngest is 17 and the oldest is 23.  I am also a proud grandmother of 3 (one boy and two girls).  I moved to Santa Clarita 3 years ago from Tracy California. It is a fun experience to be able to work at Remember When... Scrapbooking.  I am like a kid in a candy store.  It is great to see all the new gadgets coming into the store.  My husband and sons call it a cult.  But, my daughters love it!  I love the idea that my scrapbooking will be a legacy for my family to treasure and share through the years to come.  I have been scrapbooking since 1991.   Emma Sargent, Team Member My name is Emma and I'm one of the newbies at Remember When...  The experience working here thus far has been incredible.  I've enjoyed everyone that I've worked with and the customers are the best! Surprise, surprise, I do love to scrapbook and I have been doing it since I was in middle school.  It is great because it is something my mom and I share together when we can get free time. A little more about myself...I graduated from Valencia High School in 2005 where I was a big time choir nerd.  I am currently a student at Cal State Northridge working toward my degree in Biology.  I am a graduate of the Girl Scout program. I was a member for 11 years and darn proud of it!  I am now a co-leader for you younger sister's troop that consists of five high school seniors.  The view is definitely different being on the adult side of the program but it makes me appreciate what my leaders did for me. Mellany Carver, Team Member     Papers, Stickers and Ribbons . . . Oh My!  Working at Remember When is so much fun for me!  I love our customers and I love to help them shop for just the right thing.  It is fun to spend all day amongst all the goodies that inspire me to get 'scrappin'.  I am addicted to paper, I am learning how to incorporate ribbon and have issues with throwing out the 'not so focused' pictures that I take. Scrapbooking is the art of commemorating a life well lived . . . I am so all about that!  I love reminiscing through my creations and I love to look at the work our customers are creating and share in their lives . . . even if it is only a 12x12 peek into their lives.  You can see the joy in their faces and just exactly how much they want to archive these moments. A bit about me . . . I am a mom and a wife and a sister!  Mom for 4 years, Wife for 7 years and Sister for 38 years.  I am learning how to juggle all of that and keep the smile on my face.  Sometimes, I like being at the store just to hear how all of you handle the burdens of life.  One of the reasons that I applied at the store was to get more time with my creative side. I have lived a few different places but I call the Santa Clarita Valley home.  I love the mountain vistas and the pleasant people that live here.  I love that there are so many things to see and do in Los Angeles.  Makes for lots of scrapbooking material.  I hope you come in the store and visit us, we have so much to share with you to help you with your projects.  I look forward to meeting all of you! Teri Dorowsky, Team Member My name is Teri, and I recently moved to Santa Clarita from Lancaster. My husband Andy and I have been together for 28 years, and married for 22. We have 2 boys - Chris, 25 and Steven, 22. My husband and both sons work in the film industry as electricians. I started scrapbooking in 1997 when my brother in law passed away, and I wanted to make a special album of just him to be able to look back on. The scrapbooking industry was new and small then, and I started out scrapping with Creative Memories. My style evolved when I visited the first scrapbook store to open in Lancaster, in 1998. I've been addicted ever since. Photography was a natural transition from scrapbooking, and I love all aspects of it. I worked at a scrapbook store in Lancaster and loved being able to help other avid paper crafters, from those just starting out, to those more experienced, providing help with new ideas and techniques. My favorite tool is the exacto knife, I find it very relaxing to cut very delicate things to use on my pages. I'm really excited to be working for Remember When and look forward to meeting you in the future.
